Things I don’t regret buying: Logitech M500 corded mouse

logitech128I was looking for a mouse to use for CAD drawing and general use on my computer. I didn’t want to spend much money on a Blue-tooth so I decided to go corded. The M500 caught my eye and I decided to buy one. Continue reading

AutoCAD LT? No way, even if it was free…

autocad-lt-2017-badge-150x150Some years now, Autodesk combines the classic AutoCAD edition with the release of one cut edition, the AutoCAD LT.

Someone would expect that the difference would only be one dimension and LT would only be an AutoCAD with 2D features. But, this would be a great story if it was true… Continue reading

Things I don’t regret buying: JBL Flip 3

jbl logoAs I spend many hours in front of my pc drawing, surfing and writing, I wanted to listen to music from a sound device that performs much better than my laptop speakers. I also was wondering how many people out there practically do not listen to music. I don’t mean that they do not listen to music literally. The sound they hear is not music. It is just something that has rhythm, a lot of bizzzz and hizzzz and something like melody. But certenly not music. Laptop speakers do not produce even an average sound quality (unless your laptop is equipped with some state of the art laptop speakers but even then…). Continue reading

Importing and Exporting point files to AutoCAD

There is often the need to import and export points in AutoCAD. Despite the fact that Civil 3D has an integrated tool for this kind of work, AutoCAD doesn’t. AutoCAD 2017

I don’t know yet how it performs in rendering (I think that Autodesk changed the rendering machine in a previous version) and it is something that I will find out. It is that the new version is polished and it comes with some upgrades that every drafter would appreciate. Continue reading

The most essential AutoCAD commands and their shortcuts that will save you many working hours

Using AutoCAD with only the mouse is a NO NO. No professional does this for many obvious reasons. First of all, using only the mouse and not the keyboard makes you spend more time on a command that could be done with the press of one or two buttons. Continue reading

Use break command In order to split objects in AutoCAD.

This apply to objects that we want to split (and break on the split points) so at the end we get different objects. (NOTE: This does NOT apply to circle breaking due to the fact that you’ll get an error that says: Cannot create 360 degree arc)

By  typing the command BR (Break) and first pressing somewhere on the object and then pressing somewhere for a second time the section between the first press (where you selected the object) and the second one, will be deleted. This is a better command for this and it is called TRIM.

What you want to do here is this: Continue reading
