I was looking for a mouse to use for CAD drawing and general use on my computer. I didn’t want to spend much money on a Blue-tooth so I decided to go corded. The M500 caught my eye and I decided to buy one.
I spent little less of 30 Euros and here I got it waiting for me to plug it for the first time! From this time, I haven’t stopped using it for the last 2 years, with no problem.
I mainly use it for CAD (AutoCAD) and I am more than satisfied with its performance. The 2 side buttons really help. I installed Logitech’s mouse software and drivers and it provided me with more functions. I assigned ESC with the front one of the side buttons and with the other one I assigned CTRL+Z. Try it and you will see the big difference there 😉 trust me.
The general feel of the mouse is great. It is as big as it should be and you will feel the difference, especially if you are used in these tiny little laptop mice. Its weight is a bit heavy but I personally find this perfect for CAD applications.
On the other hand, there are also some cons but they are minor. The buttons click sound is a bit annoying but you’ll get used to it easily. Same goes to the wheel when it is not in free scrolling mode.
The mouse can perform well on almost every surface (I haven’t tried it on glass) and I would recommend everyone who is going to buy it, should spend 5 minutes installing the Logitech’s program for this mouse in order to have a great experience. I would suggest that if you find it less than 30 Euros you should grab it!
